Dozens of used needles found in Palisades Park

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

Dozens of used needles were found in Palisades Park in Spokane Wednesday morning.

“I happened to see that alongside the road,” said Tim McGee who found the needles. “And it struck me a little funny and I took another look to see.”

To McGee’s dismay, it was a pile of used syringes mixed with a couple bullet casings, coins, and other junk.

“I’m just afraid somebody would stumble onto that and maybe not know what it was and a kid could get injured,” said McGee. “There must be something in place for people to dispose of needles safely.”

There is literature written by the Spokane Regional Health District on what to do if you find used needles, including proper disposal or who to call if you don’t feel comfortable disposing of them.
