No one hurt in Spokane house fire overnight

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 3800 block of E. Bridgeport in Spokane early Sunday morning. Spokane firefighters say there was also a reported explosion.

Crews were called to the fire at around 12:39 a.m. The basement and first floor of the home were on fire when crews arrived. The foundation of the home had extensive damage, making entry unsafe. No one was inside the home at the time and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, however the home was damaged and officials say it is likely a total loss.

Spokane firefighters report a man was taken to a local hospital with minor burns before crews arrived on scene. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators were on scene Sunday working to determine a cause of the fire.

Spokane Police were also on scene Sunday conducting their own investigation.

No additional information was immediately available.
