Arby's reaches deal to buy Buffalo Wild Wings for $2.4 billion

Posted: Updated:
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -

Have you ever been dining out in a Buffalo Wild Wings and thought, "This is really good, but what if I was at Arby's?"

Or maybe you've been in an Arby's and thought, "This Beef N' Cheddar is so delicious, but I could really use some boneless wings drenched in delicious garlic Parmesan sauce!"

Well, the idea of an Arby's/BDubs superstore may be a little bit closer to fruition after Arby's announced on Tuesday that it has reached a deal to acquire Buffalo Wild Wings for $2.4 billion in cash.

"Buffalo Wild Wings is one of the most distinctive and successful entertainment and casual dining restaurant companies in America,” Arby's CEO Paul Brown said in a statement. “We are excited to welcome a brand with such a rich heritage, led by an exceptionally talented team. We look forward to leveraging the combined strengths of both organizations into a truly differentiated and transformative multi-brand restaurant company.”

The deal calls for Arby's to pay $157 per share in Buffalo Wild Wings stock. BDubs stock jumped 6.4% to $155.80 Tuesday morning.

Minneapolis-based Buffalo Wild Wings has more than 1,250 locations in 10 countries. Arby's has more than 3,300 in seven countries.

The deal doesn't mean you'll be able to grab a Beef N' Cheddar AND boneless wings under one roof (yet), but a guy can dream, right?

SINGAPORE (AP) - Inuka, the world's first polar bear born in the tropics, has been put down by the Singapore Zoo. The 27-year-old bear suffered from age-related ailments including arthritis. Its limbs were too weak to support an over 500-kilogram (1,100-pound) frame. The zoo said this resulted in injuries to Inuka's abdomen and paws which did not respond well to weeks of intensive treatment.
