Bonsai Finance announces they are strengthening the company’s commitment to Financial Literacy and inclusion through a partnership with Operation Hope. Operation Hope remains the leading global financial dignity and empowerment nonprofit today, and the two organizations plan to bring financial literacy to individuals across the country. At the same time, this partnership strives to empower those populations that are currently unbanked and underbanked by offering financial education via an online learning portal.

“Thanks to this collaboration, we now serve as the exclusive online partner for Operation Hope in providing this education. Our site hosts Operation Hope’s content in this portal, and the content partnership supports cost-free counseling and financial education to those in need. According to the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, 80 percent of adults state they would benefit from answers to common financial questions along with advice from a professional. Younger adults feel more strongly about needing this type of guidance, although those of any age state they would benefit from help,” Britton Smith, founder of Bonsai Finance, explains.

Bonsai Finance and Operation Hope function to help consumers gain a better understanding of their finances so they can take control of their future and plan to do so by increasing financial literacy and economic empowerment. The partnership supports Project 5117, an undertaking of Operation Hope, which works to combat economic inequality through improving financial literacy, increasing business role models and business internships for youth and boosting credit scores to stabilize the American dream.

“Seventy-five percent of individuals surveyed by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling stated they have financial worries, with 34 percent stating they do not have enough savings. Job concerns and worries about not being able to make monthly financial obligations were also listed as concerns of individuals. Sadly, these numbers have increased over recent years, which demonstrates a need for more financial education for individuals,” Smith states.

Operation Hope and Bonsai Finance will work together to improve financial literacy opportunities. Doing so simplifies personal finance for individuals, allowing a person to take charge of their credit and finances. With this information, consumers find it easier to achieve their personal financial goals and make informed decisions with regard to their money. The programs offered through Operation Hope cost nothing and cover a wide range of topics, including small business development, money management and financial disaster recovery.

“We are very excited about this partnership, as it provides both organizations with a way to reach more individuals. Every person needs to take control of their financial situation, but many don’t know how to do so. The online learning portal will make it easy for individuals to learn more about personal finance and how to apply this information in their everyday life,” Smith declares.
