West Central man says he was pistol-whipped for pot

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

On a quiet West Central Spokane street there's a park and well-kept lawns. But on Monday night, a young man was getting ready to fix up the rental he and his buddies just had moved into last month. But his Monday night for this man ended with a pistol whipping "That's when all of a sudden I was stunned. Hit very hard by something. I wasn't sure," said the man who did not want to be identified because he says the suspects are still out there and he fears for his life.

In a daze and bleeding a lot, he couldn't figure out why or what just had happened. His toolbox and front steps covered in blood. the suspect kept repeating the same sentence over and over "The person told me to get the marijuana out of the house and continued to repeat that while beating me, pistol whipping me with a handgun, eventually threatening to shoot me multiple times actually."

Scared for his life, the victim went downstairs to grab the unspecified amount of pot. Once the suspect got what he wanted, he took off running out of the house. Leaving his victim behind with a broken nose in four places, several stitches and large knots on his forehead where he had been pistol-whipped multiple times. The victim called his sister who then called the police. The victim was taken to a local area hospital "it was not fun. it was not a fun experience at all."

Spokane Police are actively investigating this case, and if you have any information you're asked to call crime check at (509 456-2233)

Fire lined vs. fire containment: What's the difference?

    Wednesday, July 18 2018 1:48 PM EDT2018-07-18 17:48:19 GMT

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - We've had a lot of questions about what firefighters  are talking about when they say that the fire is 100 percent lined, but that the Upriver-Beacon fire is 0% contained. Here's the gist, according to firefighters: Containment is essentially their faith in the strength of the fire line. So when they say there is a line around 100 percent of the fire, but 0 percent containment, it means they are concerned that the fire could jump the line.
