Posted: Updated:
KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho -

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office wants to welcome their newest member to the team, K9 Bailey!

K9 Bailey is a two year old chocolate lab and comes from Western Washington. Dep. Arek Brock has been selected to be Bailey’s new handler and the two have begun their extensive training together.

K9 Bailey is being trained as a drug detection canine. Bailey also will be used to interact in the community to explain and demonstrate the abilities of the K9 unit. In the future, Dep. Brock and Bailey will spend time at local schools, community events, and other public venues interacting with the public.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank Kootenai County residents Jim and Colleen Denning, for their generous donation that made this addition to the team a possibility. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit is funded by donations from the public and operates with the support of our community.
