Police: Woman claiming to be 'King of Post Falls' attacks officer

Posted: Updated:
POST FALLS, Idaho -

Post Falls Police were called to the intersection of Mullan and Chase Saturday night to check on the welfare of a woman who was making outlandish claims. Following an investigation, both the woman, and a male relative called to pick her up, were taken into custody.

According to shift logs, police were called because the woman was acting strangely and claiming to be the "King of Post Falls," among other things. Officers arrived and spoke with the woman. They called a relative to pick the woman up. When that relative arrived, officers suspected he was driving under the influence. and investigated him for DUI.

The DUI investigation upset the woman, who reportedly attacked one of the responding officers. The officer was not hurt, but the woman was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building in Post Falls.

The man submitted to a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI. He was also transported to the Public Safety Building, where police say he provided breath samples with a blood alcohol content of .081.

He was booked for DUI.

Additional details weren't immediately available Sunday.
