Rathdrum man arrested in connection to fatal motorcycle crash

Posted: Updated:
RATHDRUM, Idaho -

As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office traffic team, deputies say a 40-year-old Rathdrum man has been arrested following a fatal motorcycle crash last month

Varsel M. Jarnagin was arrested for felony vehicular manslaughter based on his involvement in the June 16 crash that killed Alexa N. Mrgich of Hayden.

Jarnagin was the driver of the 2007 GMC pickup truck that ran into the back of a motorcycle on which Mrgich was a passenger as it stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of N. Huetter Rd. and W. Lancaster Ave.

Jarnagin was set to make his first court appearance on Tuesday. Jarnagin has been booked into the Kootenai County Public Safety Building over 25 times over the past 20 years, most recently for domestic assault and trafficking heroin.

Deputies say the investigation into the crash is continuing.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - A man in Florida apparently went all out for Halloween with an impressive Flintstone get up, and wanted to keep enjoying it. That situation led local law enforcement to have some fun at his expense. Last week, the Pasco Sheriff's Office (not Pasco, Wash.) pulled over the man, who was dressed as Fred Flintstone and driving a smart car turned Flintmobile.
