EAST WENATCHEE, Wash -

Crews fighting the Crystal fire burning near East Wenatchee expect the fire to be fully contained on Monday.

The fire, which broke out shortly after midnight on September 1, has burned 2,610 acres.

Crews say they'll be out Monday morning checking the perimeter and around the residential areas one more time. Crews assigned to the fire overnight said that even with some high winds, the perimeter was holding well. There were a few hot spots that showed up, but they were quickly extinguished.

Firefighters say people living in the area should expect to see some smoke Monday from time to time. Local agencies will be patrolling the area.

Fire crews expect the fire to be fully contained by 1 p.m. Monday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
