Rocky forfeits first win of the season to Carroll

BILLINGS, Mont. -

Rocky Mountain College has submitted a self-report of a rules violation to the NAIA regarding the August 23 game against Carroll College.

The violation was identified through RMC's own internal review processes. This review process indicated that one academically ineligible athlete was played in the August 23 competition. RMC says it recognizes that this violation results in a forfeiture of the football game.

RMC says it accepts full responsibility for the violation.

"We sincerely apologize to our community, our fans, our student athletes, Carroll College, and the NAIA for this error, and we dedicate ourselves to improving all processes so that we may avoid any future violations," the college posted on its website.
