Immigration protests underway in SeattlePosted: Updated:
SEATTLE, Wash. - Thousands of people have begun a march in Seattle in support of immigrant rights. The marchers are carrying American flags and signs with slogans such as, "We are not criminals."
The "Northwest Immigrant Rights Project" march is headed from St. Mary's Church in the Central District to the downtown Federal Building. Similar marches are being held across the nation, including on the National Mall in Washington, D-C. Demonstrators are seeking a reform measure that would legalize an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants.
