SPOKANE, Wash. - Rescuers were unable to pull a man out of the Spokane River on Monday.
A witness called 911 to report a man had jumped into the river from the Monroe Street Bridge. Rescue efforts were started immediately and a search of the river was conducted from the bridge to TJ Meenach Drive with the support of a MedStar helicopter. Firefighters and police officers were stationed along the river banks for support.
The search was called off an hour and 20 minutes after it began because rescuers could not find anyone in the water.
