SPOKANE, Wash. - Celebrate the 4th by lighting fireworks in your front yard, and it could cost you.  Fireworks of all kinds are illegal within the limits of the City of Spokane.  The fine for lighting them off is $513.

If you have fireworks and don't know what to do with them, you may turn them in to any Spokane Fire Department fire station.  Those who do hand them over will not be subject to any fines.

Also new for 2006 is a Fireworks Tip Line.  Anyone wishing to report fireworks violations in their neighborhood can call 625-7059.
