Offices closed, services delayed because of holidayPosted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. - Several City offices and services will be shut down on Tuesday, July 4 for observance of the Independence Day holiday.
The following offices and locations will be closed:
- Spokane City Hall
- Garbage transfer stations
- Waste-to-energy plant
- Library branches (all locations)
Parking meters will not need to be plugged on Tuesday. Garbage pickup and curbside recycling will be a day late for the rest of the week, with Friday's pickup occurring on Saturday. Spokane Public Library branches also will be closed on Tuesday, July 4.
The Spokane City Council briefing session and legislative meeting for Monday, July 3, have been canceled because of a lack of a quorum. The Council will meet next on Monday, July 10, at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the City Council .
