Man Arrested After Pointing RiflePosted: Updated:
At 1:30am, Spokane Police responded to the area of Francis and Division after receiving reports of a man pointing an AR-15 Assault Rifle at citizens.
Andrew C. Murinko, 20, of Spokane, was arrested after allegedly pointing the rifle at a man and woman. Murinko was asked to leave a tavern on the north side of Spokane, after an argument. Murinko drove around with the rifle in his backseat. At some point, he confronted a couple driving northbound on Atlantic from Division. Murinko got out of his car, leveled the rifle at them, realized it was a case of mistaken identity, and got back into his car and left.
The victims felt their lives were in grave danger and immediately called police.
Officers placed Murinko under arrest for 2 COUNTS OF 2ND DEGREE ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON.
The rifle, an Arma-Lite AR-10 A2 and magazine with ammunition, were placed on police property.
