Stolen car suspect arrested mere hours after being released from GeigerPosted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. - According to Spokane Police, it took mere hours after being released from jail that a suspected car thief apparently returned to his old ways.
Officers arrested 23-year old Kevin W. Aeklund at 9 a.m. Friday inside a stolen car on the City's east side. He was released from Geiger Corrections Center at 1:30 a.m. after spending time there for - what else - stealing a car.
Friday's arrest came after 9-1-1 received a call of a suspicious car in the alley near Pittsburg Street and Boone Avenue. Aeklund was found inside a 1988 Honda Civic that was stolen a few hours earlier from someone on the 1200 block of E. 13th Avenue. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Spokane County Jail on one count of Taking Motor Vehicle Without Owner's Permission - a felony.
On August 5th, he was arrested for First Degree Possession of Stolen Property - also a felony.
