Ballots mailed out for September 19 primaryPosted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. - Election officials are mailing out ballots today for the September 19th primary in Washington. All are due to be mailed by Friday.
Of the state's 3.3 million registered voters, more than two million vote by mail.
State elections director Nick Handy expects a 35 percent turnout -- typical for an even-year, non-presidential primary.
This will be the state's last September primary. Starting next year the primary will be the third Tuesday in August.Copyright 2006 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
