BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Eastern Washington rebounded from its upset loss to NCAA Division II Central Washington at home last week with a 19 to 10 victory over Montana State in a Big Sky Conference opener at Bozeman, Montana.
Brett Bergstrom kicked four field goals, including a 53-yarder, as well as the extra point after Toke Kefu's touchdown for the Eagles, who won their first game of the season.
Eastern now is 1 and 3 overall. Montana State also is 1 and 3.
Kefu rushed for 93 yards, including a 1-yard TD run with 7:35 left in the third quarter to give Eastern a 16 to 7 lead.
Eagles quarterback Matt Nichols completed 11 of 19 passes for 176 yards and was intercepted once. Tony Davis caught six passes for 89 yards.
