Two "micro" earthquakes recorded near Mt. RanierPosted: Updated:
GREENWATER, Wash. - Two small earthquakes were recorded today south of Greenwater, near Mount Rainier.
The Pacific Northwest Network recorded a 2.7 magnitude earthquake at 8:30 a.m. 20 miles south of Greenwater. The quake occurred over an hour after a 2.6 magnitude earthquake in the same location.
There were no reports of people feeling the earthquakes and no damage was reported.
These "micro" quakes come one week after 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck the same area, seven miles east of Mount Rainier's summit.(The Associated Press contributed to this story.)
