As the last 4 seconds of the game expired, Josh Brown kicked a 54-yard field goal in a stunning finish, giving the Seahawks (4-1) a 30-28 victory over the Saint Louis Rams (4-2).
Matt Hasselbeck threw for 268 yards, including three touchdown passes as Seattle regained first place from its NFC West rival.
After a spiked ball late in the 4th quarter the Rams began to celebrate, thinking a 10-second clock runoff would give them the win. But an illegal formation penalty against the Seahawks brought the ball back 5 yards and gave Brown a chance to kick for the win.
Saint Louis dominated the first half, leading 21-7 midway through the third quarter, but the Seahawks scored the next 20 points.
MVP running back Shaun Alexander sat out his third straight game with a broken foot. The Seahawks were also without wide receiver Bobby Engram, who's still out with a thyroid condition, and tight end Jerramy Stevens, who has an injured knee.
