Alexander to miss 5th straight game due to injuryPosted: Updated:
KIRKLAND, Wash. - It appears the Seattle Seahawks will have to wait another week for the return of star running back Shaun Alexander. Tests today unexpectedly showed that a bone in his foot remains cracked.
Alexander has missed four straight games, and the Seahawks had hoped to have him back for next Monday night's game against Oakland. The league M-V-P and last year's rushing leader has been pain-free for more than a week. But Coach Mike Holmgren says doctors wouldn't give him the green light after seeing new pictures of the foot today.
Alexander cracked the bone in his left foot on September 24th against the New York Giants. The Seahawks suffered their third loss in four games yesterday at Kansas City. The Seahawks are averaging 92 yards rushing this season. Last year, with Alexander running for more than 1,800 yards, they were third in the N-F-L at 154 yards per game.
