Storm system brings heavy snow to NorthwestPosted: Updated:
PACIFIC NORTHWEST - A strong storm system dumped snow in the mountains across much of the Pacific Northwest today. Forecasters expect heavy snowfall in the mountains overnight, and high winds along the coast.
Up to a foot of snow fell on some of the Cascades' western slopes today. The weather service predicts another 8-14 inches of snow to fall in the Cascades tonight followed by another 6-12 inches tomorrow.
Forecasters called for about 6-10 inches in the mountains of the Idaho Panhandle today, with the snow expected to taper off in the evening.
