PULLMAN, Wash. - The Cougars are taking the pads off in practice this week, trying to keep the contact to a minimum in the days leading up to Apple Cup.
The 99th Apple Cup is Saturday afternoon in Martin Stadium. The Huskies own the all-time series 63-29-6, but the Cougars have the recent edge. They've won the last two games.
Last season, Washington took the lead in the 4th quarter, but WSU came back to win with a 39-yard touchdown catch by Trandon Harvey.
A win this week would make it three wins in a row for the Cougars, something that's never been done in Apple Cup history.
