Spokane County Prosecutor Steve Tucker said yesterday that state law in 1995 prohibited murder or manslaughter charges unless the victim died within three years. The law has since been changed, but the old limit still governs the case in which John Levi Swiger fractured Jeffrey Charles Feagan's skull with a club.
Feagan was in a coma until dying Tuesday.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quotes Gwinnett County authorities as saying in a report that her family members, 54-year-old Terry Ward Sorrells and 18-year-old Christian Alexander Sorrells, have been charged with neglect of a disabled adult or elder person.>>
