Making a statement: Cougars ranked 20 after beating Huskies
PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State Cougars are ranked Number 20 in this week's AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll.
They manhandled the Washington Huskies 75-47 over the weekend in Pullman, led by Derrick Low's 20 points.
The Huskies lost their third game in a row and saw their Pac-10 record fall to 1-6. They did not have their starting center, freshman Spencer Hawes, who injured an ankle in practice Friday.
While WSU beat the Huskies for the third straight time and went to 16-3 overall, Washington dropped to 11-7.
Huskies now lead the series 168-93 and own a 69-60 record in Pullman. The 2006-07 season is the 91st straight in which the schools have played at least once, tied for the 13th longest continuous rivalry nationally.
