Sex offender may have tried to enroll in several Arizona schoolsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) _ Authorities say a youthful looking sex offender may have enrolled in several Arizona schools while trying to pass as a 12-year-old boy.
Police in Maricopa and Gila counties are checking schools in their areas to see if any enrolled Neil Havens Rodreick, who had been going by the name "Casey Price."
Rodreick was correctly identified last week after he tried to enroll in Mingus Springs Charter School in Chino Valley.
The school actually allowed Rodreick to attend for one day until they were presented with some paperwork that school officials say looked phony.
The school says it thought it had an abducted child.
Rodreick is actually 29 and came to Arizona from Oklahoma after allegedly conning two men into believing he was a child.
