Zags win fourth straight WCC title!

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Zags defeat Santa Clara 77 - 68 at the Chiles Center Monday night, winning their fourth straight WCC title. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are going to the NCAA basketball tournament for the ninth straight season despite the drug arrest of star center Josh Heytvelt.

Last night at the University of Portland's Chiles Center in Portland, Oregon, the Zags won the West Coast Conference tournament with a 77 to 68 victory over Santa Clara.      

With the victory came an automatic NCAA tournament bid. Gonzaga also won the WCC regular-season championship. The Bulldogs have won eight of the last nine WCC tournaments.      

Last night the Zags were led by senior guard Derek Raivio's 28 points, freshman Matt Bouldin's 14 points and, Kansas transfer Micha Downs' 12 points and 10 rebounds.  

The NCAA Championship kicks off on Tuesday, March 13th but selection information won't be released until this Sunday.
