MOSCOW, Idaho - Police have arrested a University of Idaho football player for armed robbery and battery. 22-year-old senior safety Tone Taupule was arrested about 4:30 Friday morning.

Assistant Moscow Police Chief David Duke says Taupule entered a home and attacked a man Thursday night. Duke says Taupule pulled a semiautomatic pistol and forced the man to give him about a thousand dollars from a safe.

Taupule then allegedly hit the man with the weapon and fled. He faces felony charges of armed robbery and aggravated battery. The incident is still under investigation.
