Bush: Success in Iraq will take months

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON, D.C.- President Bush spoke this morning at the White House to mark the fourth anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. The President says the new security crackdown in Baghdad shows signs of progress. But he says success in Iraq "will take months, not days or weeks."

Meantime two more protests against the Iraq war are scheduled for this afternoon in downtown Seattle. City officials have warned that the marches at 3 o'clock could disrupt traffic during the afternoon rush hour. Yesterday, several thousand demonstrators paraded downtown to show their opposition to the war, which is entering its fifth year this week.

There are also events planned here locally. Move-on-dot-org will host a candlelight vigil this evening to honor those wounded and killed in Iraq. It'll start at the Thomas Foley Federal building on W. Riverside this evening at 6:30. There will be live music, testimonials from Veterans, and a procession across the Monroe street bridge.  At Independence Point in Coeur d' Alene there will be a candlelight vigil tonight. This vigil gets underway at 6:00pm.
