Witness: Gunman Was `Normal-Looking'

Posted: Updated:

BLACKSBURG, VA - A witness who survived today's massacre at Virginia Tech describes the gunman as "just a normal-looking kid" who was Asian.

Student Erin Sheehan was in a German class attacked by the gunman. She tells the student newspaper the gunman had on what she called a "Boy Scout-type outfit," and was wearing a "tan button-up vest" as well as a "black vest."

Another student in the class, Trey Perkins, tells The Washington Post the gunman was about 19 years old and had a "very serious but very calm look on his face."

Perkins says the gunman first shot the professor in the head and then fired on the students.

Police say they have a preliminary I-D, but aren't releasing it yet as the investigation continues.
