Motive For Massacre Still A MysteryPosted: Updated:
BLACKSBURG, VA-- Still no word on a possible motive for today's shooting rampage at Virginia Tech that resulted in the deaths of 33 people, including the gunman, who took his own life.
The gunman's identity hasn't been released, and it's not known if he was a student.
At an evening news conference, Virginia Tech Police Chief Wendell Flinchum refused to dismiss the possibility that a co-conspirator or second shooter was involved. He said police had interviewed a "person of interest" who knew one of the victims, but he declined to give details.
Two people died in a dorm room, and 31 others were killed in a classroom building, including the gunman. At least 15 people were hurt, some seriously.
A witness tells The Washington Post the gunman was about 19 years old and had a "very serious but very calm look on his face."
