Early morning assault with a knife

Posted: Updated:

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash.- One woman is recovering after an early morning assault with a knife in Medical Lake on the 300 block of East Barker.   At approximately 2:30am the Medical Lake Police Dept. responded to a call of a possible sexual assault with a weapon.

The victim reported that a suspect had entered her residence through an unlocked front door, and woke her up from where she was sleeping on the living room floor, and allegedly demanded sex from her while armed with a knife.  A struggle over the knife ensued and the victim received a laceration wound on her right hand.  The Struggle woke up another resident of the home who saw the suspect on top of the victim and pulled him off of her.  The suspect then fled the residence on foot and a K-9 search for the suspect ended in with no one being found.

KHQ spoke with the victim and she told us that she thinks that the suspect had been "stalking" her because he knew how to gain entry into the home.

The suspect has been described as an adult white male approximately 5'10'', tall with a thin "skinny" build.  Wearing a black colored ski mask, dark colored sweatshirt, blue denim jeans, and dark colored fingerless gloves.

The case is currently under investigation.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Medical Lake Police Dept. at (509) 565-5003
