Suspects to appear in court for soldier murder plotPosted: Updated:
MOUNT LAUREL, NJ-Federal authorities in New Jersey say six men wanted to "kill as many soldiers as possible." The suspects have been arrested on charges they plotted to attack the Fort Dix Army base.
A spokesman for the U-S Attorney's Office in Camden says the men are all from the former Yugoslavia, and five of them now live in Cherry Hill.
The suspects are scheduled to appear in U-S District Court in Camden Tuesday to face charges of conspiracy to kill U-S servicemen. A news conference has been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in Camden.
Documents in the case remain sealed but a law enforcement official says the men were arrested as part of a joint federal and local investigation.
Officials say the attack was stopped in the planning stages.
