Minor injuries in Friday morning hit and runPosted: Updated:
SPOKANE, WASH.-Spokane police responded to the intersection of Wellesley and Haven for a hit and run collision just after 1:00 a.m. Friday.
The victim was traveling east bound on Wellesley attempting to turn left into the Exxon parking lot. The suspect vehicle was west bound on Wellesley and failed to stop for the flashing red signal at market. The suspect vehicle hit the victim's car, went up onto the curb, struck a street sign and continued for about 1 block.
The suspect vehicle came to rest in some bushes behind a church at the corner of Regal and Wellesley.
Both vehicles appeared to be totaled as a result of the collision.
The driver, and only occupant of the victim vehicle, had minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene. Police attempted to track the suspect with the k-9 unit, but the track was unsuccessful.
The speed of the suspect vehicle could not be determined, but it did appear to be going above the posted speed limit of 30 mph.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
