Voters approve four No. Idaho school levies and Deer Park school bondPosted: Updated:
Spokane, WA - It appears voters in Deer Park have approved a bond to expand and modernize Deer Park High School. As of Tuesday night, more than 62 percent of voters had cast 'yes' ballots for the measure.
Voters also approved propositions for Spokane County Fire District 8 and Fire District 10. Nearly 66 percent of voters approving of the District 8 measure to finance emergency medical services and more than 65 percent approving the District 10 measure to restore a maintenance and operations levy.
Four school levies in north Idaho are also faring well at the polls. Levies in Post Falls, St. Maries and Kootenai School Districts are passing with more than 65 percent approval and a levy in Coeur d'Alene receiving well over the 50 percent rate for approval.
The $23 million bond for the West Bonner School District appears to be headed for defeat. With a two-thirds majority approval required to pass, just half of voters have said yes.
