At least 8 U.S. soldiers dead, more violence in IraqPosted: Updated:
BAGHDAD, Iraq-The U.S. military reports that at least 8 soldiers were killed Monday on Memorial Day. All of the soldiers were killed in the Diyala Province north of Baghdad. Two of them were killed in a helicopter that went down. The six others died in explosions near their vehicles.
Tuesday morning is also shaping up to be a violent one in the region. Police said 17 people were killed and 53 injured in a bombing in central Baghdad, and more explosionskilled 15 and injures 36 in the western part of the city.
An Iraqi government official said three German computer experts were also kidnapped from the finance ministry.
