Suncrest car seat check todayPosted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. - Changes to child passenger safety laws have taken effect. Children up to their 8th birthday, and under 4'9" must be in a child restraint system. Children under 13 must be transported in the back seat when practical to do so. Your child restraint system must be correctly installed in your vehicle according to both the car seat and vehicle manufacture's instructions. These are just a few of the law that apply to child passenger safety.
At a car seat check Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Outpost in Suncrest, a team of nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will be providing free inspections to ensure your children are traveling safely.
This team includes technicians from the Spokane Police department, Cheney Fire, Spokane Valley and the Spokane Regional Health District. They will be there to answer any questions parents have as well as to physically inspect the safety of their children's car seats.
