Mariners 2 - Red Sox 1 in 11 inningsPosted: Updated:
SEATTLE, Wash. - Jose Lopez doubled home the winning run in the bottom of the eleventh to give Seattle a 2-1 decision over Boston Wednesday.
Ichiro Suzuki drew a one-out walk off loser Joel Pineiro before scoring on a ball that eluded a leaping Manny Ramirez at the left-field wall. Suzuki also singled home a run in the first inning.
The Mariners completed a three-game sweep and earned their fifth consecutive win despite Red Sox starter Daisuke Matsuzaka, who allowed just three hits in eight innings.
The Red Sox didn't score until Coco Crisp lifted a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Jason Davis is 2-0 following two scoreless innings of relief. Pineiro dipped to 1-1.
The Mariners are nine games over .500, tying a season high.
