ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Sammy Sosa hit his 603rd career homer run and drove in five to rally the Texas Rangers past Seattle 8-to-7. Sosa had been in a six-for-43 slump in July.
Sosa's three-run homer in the fifth broke a 3-3 tie and was his 15th this season. That's one more than he had in 102 games for Baltimore in 2005 before sitting out last year. Brad Wilkerson also hit his 15th homer in the fifth, a two-run shot off loser Horacio Ramirez, who is 5-and-3.
The Mariners have lost three in a row.
Kevin Millwood is 7-and-8 with the win despite allowing 12 runners on eight singles and four walks in five and a-third innings. The first five Seattle hitters reached base, but the right-hander held on to improve to 5-and-2 over his last eight starts.
