EWU picked to finish 5th in Big Sky

Posted: Updated:

CHENEY, Wash. - The Eagles have something to prove this year: that they're better than their peers think they are.  Coaches in the Big Sky picked Eastern Washington to finish 5th in the league this year at the 2007 Big Sky Conference Summer Kickoff in Park City, Utah earlier this month.

The Eagles have their work cut out for them, coming off a 3-8 season in 2006.  They finished 3-5 in the Big Sky - good enough for a tie for 6th place.  They had been picked to finish in second place after a hugely successful campaign in 2005.

This year, 46 letter winners return to the team.  13 of those 46 were starters last year.
