Ferry service resumes following evacuations

Posted: Updated:

SEATTLE, Wash. - Ferry service is now back to normal in Seattle at the Colman Ferry Dock after a suspicious device prompted an evacuation at about 8:30 Wednesday morning.

Crew members onboard the ferry Puyallup found the package behind a toilet and told authorities, who then shut down the ferry terminal.

A Washington State Patrol bomb squad unit removed the package, according to Jane Davis of Washington State Ferries.

Right now there is no information available on what was inside the package.

The ferry Wenatchee returned to Colman Dock after it was diverted to Edmonds.
