KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks' Pro Bowl pass rusher, Julian Peterson, appears likely to sit out Saturday's exhibition game against Minnesota as he nurses an injury to his right knee.
But coach Mike Holmgren says that even though Peterson missed his second consecutive day of practice yesterday, he will be ready for the exhibition finale against Oakland August 30th and for the season opener against Tampa Bay on September 9th.
Peterson had a career-high 10 sacks and earned his third Pro Bowl invitation last season _ his first season with Seattle after six in San Francisco.
Pro Bowl left tackle Walter Jones will also likely sit out the game to preserve his surgically repaired shoulder for the regular season.
However, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will start, and as he usually does during the third game of a preseason, Holmgren is likely to play Hasselbeck and other starters into the second half.
