ARLINGTON, Texas- Ichiro Suzuki hit a three-run double in between homers by Jose Guillen and Jose Vidro during a seven-run inning Thursday night as the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 9-to-4 in Arlington, Texas.
Seattle pitcher Jeff Weaver won his fourth consecutive start in August. Seattle is 18-and-7 since a seven-game losing streak last month. The Rangers led 3-to-1 after a pair of homers. But Guillen led off the sixth with his 18th homer. The Mariners then loaded the bases on two singles, an error and a hit batsman.
Suzuki cleared the bases with his double into the left-center gap. And Vidro then hit reliever Mike Wood's first pitch for his fifth homer. Suzuki finished 3-for-5, while Adrian Beltre, Raul Ibanez, Kenji Johjima and Guillen all had two hits apiece.
