Cougars prepare for Wisconsin

Posted: Updated:

PULLMAN, Wash. - No disrespect to the Wisconsin Badgers, but Washington State football coach Bill Doba says he's happy Saturday's season opener isn't at Auburn again.

The Cougars didn't do too well in last year's first game, losing 40-14 against the speedy Auburn Tigers in a hot, humid stadium.

Doba says this year's season opener against the Big Ten's Wisconsin provides more traditional match-ups for WSU.

Doba says Wisconsin's complicated offense does pose problems for the Cougars. But he plans to counter by keeping things simple.

The Cougars finished 6-6 last year, missing a bowl game for the third consecutive season.
