University of Memphis Football Player Fatally ShotPosted: Updated:
MEMPHIS, TENN. - Classes at the University of Memphis were canceled Monday, after a football player was fatally shot late Sunday night on the school's campus.
Taylor Bradford, 21, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead a short time later at the Regional Medical Center. The school newspaper, the Daily Helmsman, identified the victim.
According to police, Bradford had walked out of the dormitory where he lived and was in his car when the shooting occurred. The car ran into a tree a short distance from the campus.
The victim was a member of the University's football team.There have been no immediate arrests.
