Holmgren: 'We haven't played our best football'

SEATTLE, Wash. - Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren says fans have a right to be disappointed and mad after Seattle's 28-17 loss at home to the previously winless New Orleans Saints.

But he's asking fans not to lose confidence.

With a 3-and-3 record and 10 games remaining, the Seahawks still have the opportunity to win the NFC West. And they have a division game on Sunday against the O-6 Rams.

Holmgren told KIRO Radio that he told the players last week not to look at the Saints' record. He says the Seahawks dug a hole with mistakes early in yesterday's game and weren't able to come out.

Holmgren says he had planned to emphasize the run but had to change the game plan to more passes after they fell behind.

The coach says, "We have not played our best football."
