Verdict reached in Shonto Pete auto theft trialPosted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. - After deliberating for around 8 hours Wednesday, a verdict has been reached in the auto theft trial of Shonto Pete. We expect the verdict to be read around 3:00 p.m.
Prosecutors allege that Pete tried to steal off duty Spokane police officer Jay Olsen's Chevrolet pick-up truck. It was after this alleged theft that Pete was shot by Officer Olsen in the head.
