WSU Hoops: Daugherty signs first recruiting class

PULLMAN, Wash. - New Washington State women's basketball coach June Daugherty signed seven players in her first recruiting class as she tries to rebuild the downtrodden Cougar program, the team said Wednesday.

Among the signees is Katie Grad, a 5-foot-8 guard from Auburn who plays for Auburn-Riverside High School.

"Katie is a talented and complete player that will provide strong and aggressive play at both ends of the court," Daugherty said. Also signing was Lexie Pettersen, from Spokane's Shadle Park High.

Other signees are Jessica Oestreicher, a 6-foot-8 center out of Liberty Christian High School in Redding, Calif., who is the tallest recruit in school history; April Cook, a 5-foot-8 guard from Long Beach Poly High in California; Danielle Lenoir, a 5-foot-6 point guard for Narbonne High School in Los Angeles; Rosie Tarnowski, a 6-foot-1 guard from Archbishop High School in Philadelphia; and 5-foot-10 guard Jazmine Perkins from Berkeley High in California.
