Cougars try to improve record to 3-0

PULLMAN, Wash. - Coming off a school record-tying 26-victory season, the ninth-ranked Washington State Cougars try to improve their record to 3-0 at 7 p.m. Friday night, facing the Idaho Vandals at Friel Court in Pullman.

The Cougars beat Eastern Washington and Boise State in their first two starts.

Second-year coach Tony Bennett's team will be facing a Vandals team that has a 1-1 record, with an 80-43 loss to 14th-ranked Gonzaga in its last start.

Senior guard Derrick Low leads the Cougars in scoring this season with 20.0 points a game.

Washington State beat Idaho 66-54 last Dec. 9 at Moscow. The Cougars have won four straight and nine of their last 10 against the Vandals.
