SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University head coach Mark Few says forward Theo Davis is leaving the Bulldogs basketball team to return home to be with his ailing father.

Davis, a 6'9" sophomore who was injured and redshirted last year, has appeared in four of the Bulldogs first nine games this season, averaging one point per game.

Davis returned home to Brampton, Ontario, Canada in early November after his father suffered a stroke but returned for the Idaho game November 13th.

Few says Davis has not withdrawn from school and plans to take his final exams next week.

The 20-year-old Davis was suspended from the team last season after his arrest for misdemeanor possession of marijuana in Cheney, where police found hallucinogenic mushrooms in the car of teammate Josh Heytvelt.

Both were reinstated in October after completing community service and taking life skills classes.
